Nurmijärvi Map Poster & Print
Nurmijärvi is a municipality in Uusimaa, north of Helsinki, made up of several centres rather than a single town. The poster centres on the church village, the historic core. Roads lead out from it toward Klaukkala, Rajamäki and smaller villages, across a landscape of fields, forest and wetland that covers most of the area.
Nurmijärvi is widely known as the birthplace of Aleksis Kivi, author of Seven Brothers, which is often regarded as the first major novel in Finnish. His childhood home is preserved as a museum. The municipality has often been described as the most populous rural municipality in Finland, and many residents commute to the capital region.
A Nurmijärvi map poster is less about a dense grid than about how settlement spreads across open ground. Clusters of streets appear like islands among fields and forest, joined by long, gently curving roads. It is a calm, spacious composition that suits minimalist interiors.

Forest and field edges
Large areas of forest and cultivated land fill the map between settlements. Their boundaries show up as a quiet pattern of lanes and tracks.
Commuter roads
The Helsinki–Tampere motorway and local main roads cross the municipality in long lines. They show how closely this rural area is tied to the capital.
