Nyachera lies in the Western Region of Uganda, in the hilly country of the south-west. It is not a compact city with a dense grid. From above, it looks more like a scatter of homesteads, trading centres and farms, connected by roads that follow the ridges and dip into the valleys between them.
This part of Uganda is green and intensively farmed, with banana groves, small plots and pasture spread across rounded hills. On the map, the terrain shapes everything. Roads curve along the contours instead of running straight, and footpaths and minor tracks thread between the fields.
