Nzega is a town in the Tabora Region of western Tanzania, on the broad central plateau of the country. On a map, the town is a modest grouping of streets, with main roads passing through and out across open country. The surrounding land is a mix of farmland, scattered settlement and woodland.
The town serves as a local centre for trade and administration, and its roads link it with other towns in the region. The wider area has also been associated with gold mining. Beyond the centre, the streets spread out loosely, giving way to fields and village tracks.
