Oleksandriya Map Poster & Print
Oleksandriya lies in Kirovohrad Oblast in central Ukraine, on the Inhulets River. On the map, the river winds through the town, and the streets extend from its banks across the open steppe. The older centre follows a fairly regular grid. Later residential districts, industrial sites and railway lines surround it.
The town grew as a centre for the surrounding region. In the twentieth century it became closely associated with brown coal mining nearby, which shaped its industrial districts and workers' settlements. The landscape around the town still bears traces of that period, alongside fields and small villages.
An Oleksandriya map poster shows a town organised by river and grid. The Inhulets forms a soft, curving line through the centre, while the straight streets and outlying districts give the design a solid structure. It is a modest, honest portrait of a place that means a great deal to the people who come from it.

Central grid
The older part of town follows a fairly regular pattern of straight streets. This clear, orderly layout is typical of many towns in central Ukraine.
Industrial outskirts
Beyond the centre, rail lines and former industrial areas linked to coal mining take up large plots. They give the edges of the map a broader, coarser grain.
