Pacol lies in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, on the island of Negros, where broad lowland plains have long been given over to agriculture, especially sugarcane. From above, the settlement appears as a cluster of streets within a wide, largely flat landscape of fields.
Roads run across this level ground in fairly direct lines, connecting the settlement to nearby towns and to the larger urban centres of the province. The built-up area is compact, with houses and streets grouped together, and the surrounding land is open, crossed by farm roads and small waterways.
