Pájara is the largest municipality on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, stretching from the island's volcanic interior to the Jandía peninsula in the south. The village of Pájara itself is small and inland, set in a valley among dry hills, with a short grid of streets around its church and a few roads leading outward.
The church of Nuestra Señora de Regla is noted for its carved stone façade, whose motifs have often been compared to pre-Columbian designs. Beyond the village, the municipality includes the coastal resorts of Costa Calma and Morro Jable and the dramatic west coast at Ajuy, known for its sea caves.
