Pilāni Map Poster & Print
Pilāni lies in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, in the semi-arid Shekhawati region. The town is the ancestral home of the Birla family, and its map is shaped by two distinct parts: the older town with its irregular lanes and traditional houses, and the large, carefully planned campus that grew beside it over the twentieth century.
The campus of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, widely known as BITS Pilani, dominates the layout, with broad avenues, hostels arranged around open spaces and the institute's main building at its heart. The town also hosts CSIR-CEERI, a national electronics research laboratory, and the Birla Museum, which traces the history of science and industry in India.
A Pilāni map poster captures this unusual combination of a traditional desert-edge town and a planned academic landscape. The straight lines and green quadrangles of the campus sit beside dense lanes and the open, sandy country beyond. It is a natural choice for BITS alumni and students, as well as for families with roots in Shekhawati.

Old town lanes
The older part of Pilāni has narrow, irregular streets and closely built houses, a dense, organic texture that contrasts with the ordered campus nearby.
Shekhawati plains
Around the town, flat semi-arid farmland and sandy terrain stretch in every direction, leaving open space on the map that frames the built-up areas.
