Puji lies in eastern Shandong, in a region of low, gently rolling farmland between the province's interior hills and the coast. On a map it appears as a compact settlement with a mostly regular street layout, surrounded by a patchwork of agricultural plots and linked to neighbouring towns and villages by straight rural roads.
