Quart de Poblet lies just west of Valencia, one of the municipalities of the metropolitan area's inner ring. Its map is compact and closely packed. An older centre of narrow streets sits at the core, surrounded by later residential blocks and industrial estates that meet the boundaries of the neighbouring towns.
To the north runs the Turia, whose course is protected here as part of a natural park. The river and its green banks form a soft edge to the town. To the west, Valencia Airport's runway lies in the adjacent municipality of Manises, and motorways and the metro line link the town to the city centre.
