Raisio Map Poster & Print
Raisio lies directly west of Turku in Southwest Finland, and the two form one continuous urban area. On the map, Raisio's side is lower in density: residential districts with curving streets, pockets of forest, and a few large commercial and industrial areas along the main roads. The pattern is modern and spacious, typical of a Finnish town that grew mostly after the war.
The sea shapes Raisio's southern and western edges. Long, narrow inlets of the Archipelago Sea reach inland, and the shoreline is broken by small points and islands. In black and white these waters look like soft, irregular shapes, very different from the straight ring roads and highways that link Raisio to Turku and to Naantali further west.
Raisio gave its name to the food company Raisio, known internationally for developing Benecol, a cholesterol-lowering ingredient. A Raisio map poster shows a town where forest, sea and suburb sit close together. It is a practical, lived-in landscape at the entrance to one of the most intricate archipelagos in Europe.

Merging with Turku
Streets continue straight across the boundary into Turku, so the map shows a town that functions as part of a wider urban region.
Forest pockets
Wooded areas sit between the residential districts, leaving open, quiet spaces that break up the street network across the map.
