Ranchuelo is a town in Villa Clara Province, in central Cuba, a short distance southwest of the provincial capital, Santa Clara. It is surrounded by agricultural land, and the map shows a compact town set in open countryside, linked to its neighbours by a few main roads and a railway line.
The streets form a regular grid of blocks, a pattern shared by many Cuban towns, with a central square and main streets that continue out of town as regional roads. At the edges, the grid gives way to farmland, scattered settlements and the gentle curves of small streams.
