Randudongkal is a town in Pemalang Regency, Central Java, in the southern part of the regency where the coastal plain rises toward volcanic uplands. From above, the town gathers along a main road, with village streets branching off into the surrounding fields and hamlets.
The landscape is typical of inland Java. Rice fields fill the valley floors and step up the slopes in terraces, rivers and irrigation channels wind between them, and settlements appear as small clusters linked by narrow roads. The higher ground to the south is part of the wider volcanic country around Mount Slamet.
