Rawmarsh Map Poster & Print
Rawmarsh lies just north of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, on rising ground above the valley of the River Don. Its map reflects the region's industrial past: older terraced streets running in tight rows, larger interwar and postwar housing estates with curving roads, and main routes linking it to Parkgate, Rotherham and the surrounding villages.
Like much of this area, Rawmarsh grew with coal mining and heavy industry, and many of the sites once used for pits and works have since become housing, green space or retail. On the map those changes show as a patchwork of different street patterns sitting side by side, each reflecting a different period of growth.
A Rawmarsh map poster is a portrait of a working town that has adapted over generations. The mix of old terraces, planned estates and open land between them makes a varied, textured composition that local families will recognise street by street.

Hillside setting
The town sits on higher ground above the Don valley, and roads climb and curve with the slope, softening the street pattern toward the edges.
Estate layouts
Later housing estates bring curving crescents and closes, adding a looser rhythm that contrasts with the straight terraces nearby.
