Riacho de Santana Map Poster & Print
Riacho de Santana is a municipality in the southwest of Bahia, in Brazil's semi-arid interior. The town itself is modest in size, and from above its streets form a fairly regular pattern of blocks set within a much larger territory of scrubland, pasture and scattered farms.
The map shows how quickly the built-up area gives way to the countryside. Roads leave the town in several directions, straight for long stretches and then bending with the terrain, while small watercourses and dry streambeds trace faint lines across the landscape.
A Riacho de Santana map poster is a portrait of an interior town at the scale people actually live it: a central square, surrounding blocks, and the roads that connect family land and neighbouring communities. In monochrome, the contrast between the tidy streets and the open land becomes especially clear.

Roads into the sertão
Long roads lead away from the town across the semi-arid interior, linking it to farms and neighbouring municipalities and giving the map strong lines that run towards its edges.
Seasonal watercourses
Thin streams and dry channels cross the landscape, many carrying water only part of the year, and they add delicate branching lines to an otherwise open map.
