Rockville Centre is a village in Nassau County on the South Shore of Long Island. Its map is a neat, dense grid of residential streets, a compact downtown and a Long Island Rail Road line running along an embankment through the middle. The village is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, and St. Agnes Cathedral stands a short walk from the downtown streets. Frequent trains to Manhattan have made Rockville Centre a popular commuter village for generations of New Yorkers.
