São Pedro is in the interior of São Paulo state, northwest of Piracicaba. The town's street grid sits on gently rolling land, and to the north the ground rises toward the escarpments of the Serra de São Pedro and Itaqueri. From above, the town is a neat, compact grid surrounded by farmland and patches of woodland.
Right beside it lies Águas de São Pedro, a very small separate municipality known for its mineral springs. The two towns are so close that their streets almost merge on the map. Together, they have long attracted visitors from São Paulo and Campinas looking for thermal water and countryside air.
