The Pyana
The river loops through the landscape in tight meanders and oxbow lakes, drawing an intricate pale line along the edge of the town on the poster.

Sergach Map Poster & Print
Sergach lies in the southeast of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, on the Pyana, a river known for its extraordinarily meandering course. From above, the town is a regular grid of streets on higher ground, bordered by the looping river and its floodplain. Beyond the town, open farmland and scattered villages stretch in every direction across the gentle landscape.
Sergach has an unusual historical claim: in past centuries it was known across Russia for its bear trainers, and a bear features on the town's coat of arms. Today the town is a local centre for the surrounding agricultural district, with a small railway station linking it to the wider region.
A Sergach map poster sets the orderly town against the restless curves of the Pyana. The grid of streets forms a compact, rectangular block, while the river winds past in tight loops and oxbows. It is a simple, engaging image of a Russian provincial town, defined by its river and the wide fields around it.

Town grid
Sergach's streets form a regular grid on higher ground, a typical plan for Russian provincial towns that contrasts sharply with the winding river.
Open farmland
Around the town, broad fields and small villages fill the map, with straight country roads leading out toward the rest of the oblast.
