Valley-floor centre
The town's streets pack into the flattest available ground, so the built-up area has a compact, irregular outline set against open hillside.

Shangyun Map Poster & Print
Shangyun is a town in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, in the Pu'er area of southwestern Yunnan, not far from the border with Myanmar. This part of China is folded into long ridges and deep valleys, so settlements are shaped by the land. On a map, Shangyun's streets gather where the ground levels out and thin quickly toward the hills.
The Lahu people give the county its name, and the wider region is home to many ethnic communities. Farming here follows the slopes, with tea, sugar cane and other crops planted on terraces and gentler hillsides. From above, the town's small compact core looks like a clearing, with country roads leaving it to wind along contours toward villages higher up.
Because the settlement is small and the landscape so vertical, the cartography feels spare. A Shangyun map poster leaves a lot of open paper around a short cluster of streets, which gives it a quiet, almost botanical look. The roads bend with the terrain, and that makes the map read differently from the gridded plans of lowland Chinese cities.

ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
This is a map for someone with a personal tie to the Lancang highlands: a birthplace, a long stay or a family line. Its sparse lines work well in minimalist rooms where a busy city plan would feel crowded.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and write the place name in whatever form means most to you. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Get the $9 HD files in six sizes or order a printed poster.
