Fine residential grain
Narrow lanes packed between low houses make up most of the map. They form a dense, even texture that prints especially well at larger sizes.

Shinden Map Poster & Print
Shinden lies on the broad, flat Kanto plain in Saitama Prefecture, north of central Tokyo. Seen from above there are no hills here to bend the streets, so the map is shaped by other things. Rail corridors, drainage channels and the old outlines of farm plots decide how the neighbourhoods grow. Housing fills the ground in a fine grain, and larger roads cross it in long, straight runs.
The name itself is common in Japan. It means "new field" and usually marks land that was reclaimed or first farmed in the Edo period or later. That background still shows in the orderly, rectangular pattern visible across much of the area. Irregular lanes follow older paths, and straighter blocks mark where farmland later became housing.
A Shinden map poster makes the most of that everyday geometry. Dense clusters of small streets give way to looser patches, waterways run straight between them, and a rail line crosses the frame. The result is a calm, detailed picture of commuter-belt Japan, the kind of landscape that is rarely drawn but very familiar to the people who live in it.

Rail corridor
A railway line cuts cleanly through the street pattern. It is the kind of straight axis that organises daily life in Saitama's commuter towns.
Channels and field lines
Straight drainage channels and the traces of old plot boundaries show how farmland was turned into neighbourhoods across the flat plain.
