Slaný Map Poster & Print
Slaný lies in Central Bohemia, north-west of Prague, in a landscape of gently rolling farmland. From above, the historic centre stands out as an oval of medieval streets that once lay within the town walls, now surrounded by later neighbourhoods, a railway line and roads leading toward Prague, Kladno and Louny.
The old town has a large main square, several churches with tall towers, and preserved gates, including the Velvary Gate, which have earned Slaný its reputation as a town of towers. Just outside the centre rises Slánská hora, a small volcanic hill with exposed basalt columns, protected as a natural monument and visible from much of the town.
A Slaný map poster combines the compact medieval core with the open fields and the rounded outline of the hill. In monochrome, the oval of the old town and the roads radiating from it read like a classic Central European town plan. It suits residents, former students and anyone fond of small Czech towns.
