Lake Tai shore
To the west, the broad expanse of Lake Tai creates a large calm surface on the map. Its irregular shoreline sets off the tight urban blocks to the east.

Songling Map Poster & Print
Songling lies in the Wujiang district of Suzhou, in one of the most water-rich landscapes in China. On the map, canals and small rivers cut through the town. Ponds and fish farms fill the land around it, and the wide surface of Lake Tai opens to the west. Modern avenues and new residential blocks now overlay an older pattern that was shaped by water.
Songling has long been the administrative centre of Wujiang. The Grand Canal runs through the area, and for centuries it carried grain and silk between the south and the north. The region is still associated with silk production and with the canal towns of southern Jiangsu, where daily life has long depended on boats, bridges and waterside streets.
A Songling map poster works best as a study of land and water. The lake edge, the straight line of the canal and the many channels give the design a strong rhythm, even in plain black and white. It is a fitting choice for anyone from Wujiang or with a feel for the Jiangnan water country.

Grand Canal corridor
The historic Grand Canal passes through Wujiang as a long, confident line. It is one of the clearest structural features in the whole composition.
Web of waterways
Smaller canals, streams and ponds are scattered between streets and fields. Together they give the plan the fine, fragmented texture typical of the Yangtze delta.

ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
For people from Wujiang and Suzhou, a map of Songling shows home as a pattern of water and streets. It is a quiet, modern way to mark where they grew up, studied or started a family, far from the usual skyline photograph.
