Stroud lies at the junction of several deep valleys, and the roads radiating along each one give the map a distinctive branching shape.

Stroud Map Poster & Print
Stroud sits at the point where five valleys of the western Cotswolds converge, and its map is shaped almost entirely by that geography. Streets run steeply up and along the hillsides, terraces follow the contours, and the town centre occupies a tight space above the valley floor. Few English towns show their terrain so clearly in the pattern of their roads.
The valleys once powered dozens of woollen mills, and Stroud became known for fine cloth, including the red Stroudwater Scarlet used for military uniforms. The Stroudwater Navigation and the Thames and Severn Canal ran through the valley bottom, and restoration work has been bringing parts of them back into use.
A Stroud map poster brings these layers together: the thin line of the canal along the valley floor, the railway above it, and the densely packed streets climbing toward the commons on the higher ground. In black and white the town's relationship to its hills becomes the whole design.

Canal corridor
The Stroudwater Navigation and Thames and Severn Canal follow the valley bottom, drawn as a long, fine waterline beside the old mill sites.
Contour streets
Terraced lanes curve along steep slopes above the centre, producing tightly stacked parallel lines that reveal the hillsides without any shading.

ለምን Stroud
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Stroud draws people who value its independent character, its market and its green surroundings. A map of the town suits a home where craft and landscape matter, and the valleys make it far from a plain grid.
Set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a street name or a moving-in date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles and download HD files for $9, or order a matte printed poster with an optional frame.
