The river
The river that gives the area its name meanders toward the strait. It forms a soft, curving line through a map otherwise shaped by careful planning.

Sungai Simpang Map Poster & Print
Sungai Simpang takes its name from a river in the north of Singapore, in the area near Sembawang and Yishun that faces the Strait of Johor. Sungai is the Malay word for river. On the map, the watercourse is the thread that ties the area together, winding through a landscape where planned public housing, parks and open land sit close to one another.
Northern Singapore has a different feel from the dense city centre. Its estates are laid out in large blocks with ring roads and connecting paths, and green corridors and waterways run between them. Part of the surrounding land has long been earmarked for future development, so the map shows a mix of finished neighbourhoods and open space.
A Sungai Simpang map poster draws out the balance between order and nature that defines this part of the island. The residential areas show Singapore's precise town planning, and the river and green land soften the edges. With the strait nearby, the composition also has a sense of the coast and of Malaysia just across the water.

Planned estates
Housing blocks are arranged along loops and grids with regular spacing. This is the typical, very legible structure of Singapore's new towns.
Northern shoreline
The Strait of Johor lies close by and gives the map a coastal edge. Beyond it is Malaysia, a view that marks the northern end of the island.

ለምን Sungai Simpang
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Northern Singapore is home to many families who have lived in its estates for decades. A map of the area records the paths to the MRT, the park connector and the riverbank, the everyday routes that make it home.
Customise the title and subtitle with a block number, a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Blueprint and Classic black & white suit Singapore's precise planning. Paper adds a softer finish.
