Hills and escarpments
Flat-topped hills rise around the town, shaping where streets can run. Their outlines show as gaps in the grid, giving the poster a sense of the terrain even in monochrome.

Tahoua Map Poster & Print
Tahoua is the capital of the Tahoua Region in west-central Niger, in the Ader country on the edge of the Sahel. The town sits among flat-topped hills and escarpments that rise from the surrounding plain, and its streets spread across the lower ground between them. On a map the result is a compact grid of blocks broken by slopes and dry watercourses.
The town is a crossroads for the region, with roads leading south towards Birni-N'Konni and the Nigerian border and north towards Agadez and the desert. Its large market draws herders and farmers from a wide area, and the mixture of settled agriculture and pastoral life is part of what shapes the town's open, spread-out form.
Beyond the built-up area the map becomes almost empty: dry valleys, seasonal ponds, scattered villages and tracks across the plain. A Tahoua map poster frames that contrast, a dense cluster of streets against wide open ground, and gives it a graphic character that suits the Sand and Paper styles particularly well.

Roads north and south
Main roads leave Tahoua towards Birni-N'Konni in the south and Agadez in the north, drawing long lines across the open Sahel beyond the town.
