Toba Tek Singh Map Poster & Print
Toba Tek Singh is a district town in central Punjab, Pakistan, in the plains between the Ravi and Chenab rivers. The land is flat and irrigated by canals dug under British rule. The town was laid out as part of that canal colony system, so its streets and surrounding fields follow unusually straight, planned lines.
The name is traditionally linked to a Sikh man named Tek Singh, who is said to have given water to travellers at a pond, or toba, on this spot. The town is widely known in South Asian literature through Saadat Hasan Manto's short story "Toba Tek Singh", a haunting account of the Partition of 1947.
A Toba Tek Singh map poster has a clear plan. It shows a compact centre, canals running in straight lines across the plain, and a rectangular pattern of fields and roads extending to the edges. The simplicity of the landscape gives the map a quiet strength.

Planned town core
The centre was laid out in the colonial period with a regular street pattern. It stands out as a compact, orderly block in the middle of the plain.
Field geometry
The surrounding farmland is divided into rectangular plots along roads and watercourses. This gives the edges of the poster a subtle, gridded texture.
