Tooele Map Poster & Print
Tooele lies in the Tooele Valley west of Salt Lake City, with the Oquirrh Mountains rising to the east. The map shows the wide, regular street grid typical of Utah towns, with blocks laid out along numbered streets, slowly climbing the slope toward the foothills.
The town grew with mining and smelting in the surrounding mountains, and later with the Tooele Army Depot, a large military installation whose grounds lie on the south-west side of town. The Great Salt Lake lies to the north of the valley, and the desert extends to the west.
A Tooele map poster shows the clarity of a grid set against mountains. The orderly blocks fill the centre of the sheet, the foothill roads twist into the canyons, and the open valley lies on the other side. It suits people from Tooele County and anyone who knows the country west of the Wasatch Front.

Oquirrh foothills
East of town, the grid stops and roads begin to wind up toward the mountains. The change in texture marks where the slopes rise.
Open valley
The flat, largely open Tooele Valley extends west and north. Its sparse roads and large empty areas create a calm margin around the town.
