Villa Ángela Map Poster & Print
Villa Ángela is a town in the south-west of Chaco Province in northern Argentina. It sits on the wide, flat plain of the Gran Chaco, a region of farmland and scrub stretching to the horizon. Like many towns in the region, it grew in the twentieth century as a centre for agriculture and settlement, connected by road and rail.
On a map, Villa Ángela's layout is strikingly regular. Streets form a grid of square blocks, broken by a few diagonal avenues and the town's central plaza. The edges of the town are sharp, and the surrounding land is divided into large, straight-sided fields crossed by rural roads.
A Villa Ángela map poster shows planned geometry on an open plain. The repeating blocks, the plaza at the centre and the straight roads heading out into the countryside make a clear and striking composition. In black and white, the grid becomes almost abstract, a simple pattern for people who know the town and its long, flat horizons.
