Campanian plain
The town sits on the fertile, level ground between Naples and Vesuvius. With no hills or rivers to shape it, the street pattern alone gives the map its character.

Volla Map Poster & Print
Volla belongs to the metropolitan area of Naples and lies on the low plain that stretches northeast of the city towards the slopes of Vesuvius. On a map, the land is completely flat, and nearly every part of it is built on. Its streets run into those of the neighbouring towns, so the municipal boundary is more a line on paper than a visible edge.
The layout mixes older farm roads with newer blocks. The farm roads come from the time when this plain was intensively cultivated market-garden land, and many still run straight and narrow between buildings. Larger roads and rail lines cross the area and tie Volla into the dense transport web around Naples.
A Volla map poster captures a very southern Italian kind of urban fabric: close-knit, layered and continuous. The black and white print turns the tight streets into a fine, even texture, broken only by the strong lines of the main roads and railways passing through.

Old rural lanes
Narrow, straight lanes from the area's farming past still run through the town. They cut across newer blocks at slight angles, which adds quiet irregularity to the grid.
Transport corridors
Rail lines and main roads cross the municipality and link it with Naples and nearby towns. In print they read as bold strokes across the fine street texture.
