Welingara lies in the Kombo area of The Gambia, part of the wider urban region spreading inland from Banjul and Serekunda. Its map shows a place in growth. Older, irregular lanes near the centre give way to newer blocks laid out more regularly, and open plots still wait between them.
Main roads connect the community to Serekunda, Brikama and the coast, forming the strongest lines on the map. Between them, sandy side streets create a dense, fine pattern. At the edges, the built area thins into farmland, bush and scattered trees.
