Winsford Map Poster & Print
Winsford sits in the heart of Cheshire, where the River Weaver runs north through a broad valley. The town grew from two settlements on either side of the river and still reads that way from above. Housing spreads over both banks, joined by a few crossings, with the town centre close to the river on the eastern side.
Salt has shaped Winsford for centuries. It is home to Britain's largest rock salt mine, which produces much of the salt spread on the country's roads in winter. Earlier brine extraction made the ground subside, forming the Winsford Flashes, a chain of lakes along the Weaver that now serve as open water for sailing, walking and birdwatching.
A Winsford map poster makes these features clear: the long lakes, the bending river, and the post-war estates built when the town expanded to take in residents from Liverpool and Manchester. It suits people who grew up here, those who work in the area, and anyone interested in how industry reshaped a landscape.

The Flashes
Lakes formed by salt subsidence stretch along the valley. On the poster they appear as broad shapes of water, unusual for an inland English town.
Expansion estates
Planned post-war neighbourhoods spread on both sides of the river. Their curving roads and closes form clusters with a distinct pattern of their own.
