Switchback roads
Mountain roads coil back on themselves as they gain height. Their looping lines give the poster a restless, hand-drawn quality.

Wuma Map Poster & Print
Wuma lies in the far east of Chongqing municipality, in the rugged hill country around the Three Gorges stretch of the Yangtze. Almost nothing here is flat. Settlements cling to terraces and valley floors, and roads have to climb in switchbacks or follow streams, so even a small township has a winding, irregular outline on the map.
The built-up area is small and packed into the places the terrain allows. Houses line the main road, side streets step up the slopes, and fields cling to the hillsides in narrow bands. What the map shows most clearly is how the land sets the plan. Every curve in a road answers a ridge or a gully.
Little is written about Wuma in English, and its appeal lies in its setting rather than in famous monuments. A Wuma map poster reduces that setting to black lines on white paper. Roads bound by the contours and scattered hamlets become a composition that feels closer to calligraphy than to a city grid.

Valley-floor centre
The township's main cluster sits where the ground briefly levels out. It is a small, dense patch surrounded by thinner lines reaching up into the hills.
Hillside hamlets
Small groups of buildings are scattered across the slopes. Narrow tracks link them, following the land's contours rather than any planned grid.

ለምን Wuma
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
People who left the mountains of eastern Chongqing for Chengdu, Shanghai or overseas often keep strong ties to their home township. This poster gives that place a permanent spot on the wall. It is abstract enough to decorate a room and specific enough to be personal.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or the year you left. Try the free watermarked preview in any of the five styles, then choose the $9 HD download or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
