Sugar railway
The narrow-gauge line serving the Xihu Sugar Factory still crosses the countryside. Its thin track is one of the few curving elements on an otherwise grid-like plain.

Xihu Map Poster & Print
Xihu is a township in Changhua County, on the broad agricultural plain of western Taiwan. From above, the land is almost completely flat. The town centre is a small grid of shophouse streets, and around it lies a patchwork of rectangular paddies, greenhouses and village clusters. Roads and irrigation channels cross that patchwork at regular angles, which gives the whole area a carefully measured look.
The town is best known for the Xihu Sugar Factory. It is one of the few sugar mills in Taiwan still linked to a working narrow-gauge railway, and part of that line now runs as a heritage train through the fields. On a map the old sugar railway traces a thin, confident line across the farmland, a reminder of the cane industry that once shaped this plain.
A Xihu map poster works mostly through rhythm: short town blocks give way to long, narrow field parcels, with fine water channels running between them. Printed in black and white, it looks almost like a textile. For anyone with roots in Changhua, it shows the place as it really is, a farming town whose structure comes from water and cultivation.

Field patchwork
Rectangular paddies and farm plots cover most of the township. Their repeating parcels give the map a steady, woven texture that stretches all the way to the edges.
Irrigation lines
Fine channels and ditches run beside the roads and fields. They show how carefully water is managed across this flat, fertile part of western Taiwan.
