Xinglong Map Poster & Print
Xinglong is a town in the Chongqing municipality in southwestern China, in a region shaped by hills, ridges and river valleys. On the map, the built-up area follows the lie of the land: streets run along the valley floor and curve with the slopes rather than forming a regular grid.
This part of Chongqing is largely rural, with farmland terraced into the hillsides and small settlements linked by winding roads. The town serves as a local centre for the surrounding villages, and its shape reflects the practical way settlements have grown in the region, stretching where the ground allows.
A Xinglong map poster is less about famous landmarks and more about form. The main road through town, the side streets climbing away from it and the rural lanes spreading into the hills together create an irregular, organic drawing that feels very different from a planned city.

Hillside lanes
Narrow roads wind up and around the hills beyond the town, tracing the terrain in loops and switchbacks that give the print a sense of relief.
Rural surroundings
Small fields and scattered hamlets around the town appear as a sparse network of tracks, framing the denser centre with open countryside.
