Valley corridor
The town stretches along a narrow valley floor, with the main road and river running side by side. That gives the map a clear central spine.

Xiyu Map Poster & Print
Xiyu lies in southeastern Gansu, in mountainous country where the Loess Plateau meets the ranges further south. From above, the town is a narrow settlement strung along a valley floor. A river and the main road run side by side, and steep slopes rise on both sides, often cut by terraced fields and gullies.
In this part of Gansu, the land leaves little flat ground, so towns grow in long, thin shapes that follow the valleys. Farming depends on terraces carved into the hillsides, and small villages sit on ledges and side valleys linked by winding tracks.
A Xiyu map poster captures this valley geometry. The town forms a slender band of streets beside the river, and the terrain around it appears as a pattern of gullies, tracks and terraces. The black-and-white rendering highlights the contrast between the narrow valley floor and the complex hills. It is a quiet, unusual map with a strong sense of place.

Terraced hills
Hillsides around the town are cut into terraces for farming. They form fine, layered lines that fill much of the poster.
Side gullies
Small valleys and gullies branch from the main valley, with tracks leading up to villages. They add a branching, tree-like pattern around the town.
