Yihe is a town in Chongqing municipality, in the folded hill country of the upper Yangtze basin. Here the land rarely lies flat for long, and settlements are shaped by the ridges and small valleys around them. Terraced fields, winding roads and clusters of buildings all adjust to the slope.
