Zherdevka Map Poster & Print
Zherdevka is a town in the south-east of Tambov Oblast in Russia, in the fertile black-earth country of the Central Russian plain. The land around it is mostly open fields, and at poster scale it forms a near-empty backdrop. The town sits in that openness as a compact, clearly defined settlement.
Like many provincial Russian towns, Zherdevka grew around its railway. The line runs through the settlement as a firm, straight element on the map. Streets of detached houses are laid out in fairly regular rows on either side, with a small river valley and patches of trees adding softer shapes.
A Zherdevka map poster gives an unassuming town an elegant form. The straight railway, the tidy residential rows and the field boundaries create a strong graphic structure. It is a meaningful keepsake for people who left the town for larger cities but still think of it as home.

Rows of houses
Residential streets run in regular rows of detached houses and gardens, producing an even, orderly texture across much of the town.
Open farmland
Wide black-earth fields surround the settlement, so the town appears on the poster as a compact island in a calm, open landscape.
