Beldānga Map Poster & Print
Beldānga is a town in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, on the flat alluvial plain near the Bhagirathi River. On a map, the town stretches along the main highway running north to south through the district, with a railway line close by. Narrow lanes branch off on both sides, and the built-up area soon fades into farmland, ponds and villages spread across the level ground.
Murshidabad district was once the seat of the Nawabs of Bengal, and its towns grew up in an intensely farmed river landscape. Beldānga today is a local centre for agriculture and trade, with markets serving the villages around it. Life here follows the seasons of rice and jute cultivation, and the ponds scattered through the town and countryside are part of its everyday landscape.
A Beldānga map poster reveals the town's linear shape: a spine of highway and railway with a dense mesh of lanes around it, set in open, watery farmland. The many small ponds appear as scattered pale shapes, giving the composition a gentle, dotted texture. It is a quiet and precise portrait of a Bengal town that is rarely seen in print.

Railway alongside
The Sealdah–Lalgola railway runs close to the highway, a second long line that mirrors the shape of the town and links it to Kolkata.
Ponds and fields
Numerous small ponds dot the town and surrounding farmland, breaking up the open space with irregular shapes that are typical of the Bengal plains.
