Shabelle River
The river winds through the centre of town and divides it into two parts. Its bends are the most striking shape on the map and anchor the whole composition.

Beledweyne Map Poster & Print
Beledweyne lies in central Somalia, not far from the border with Ethiopia. The Shabelle River runs through the middle of town, so on the map it has two banks linked across the water. Streets spread out on both sides in a loose pattern. Past the edge of town, the roads fade into open, dry country, where tracks and a few highways lead away toward other regional centres.
The town is the capital of the Hiiraan region and a long-standing trading point on routes between the Somali interior and the Ethiopian highlands. The Shabelle is the reason it exists. The river brings water for farming along its banks, but it also floods in some seasons. Those floods have shaped where people build and how the town has grown over time.
A Beledweyne map poster puts the river front and centre. Its curves cut through the street pattern and give the design a natural axis. The rest of the map is lighter and more open, with a denser core near the water thinning out toward the edges. It is a plain, honest picture of a town defined by one river.

Two riverbanks
Neighbourhoods sit on both sides of the Shabelle and are connected across it. This gives the town a clear, split structure that is easy to see from above.
Regional roads
Main roads leave town toward the interior and the Ethiopian border. On the poster they show up as a few strong lines reaching out across open land.
