Brüggen Map Poster & Print
Brüggen lies in the far west of North Rhine-Westphalia, close to the Dutch border, on the Schwalm, a small river that winds toward the Meuse. On a map the town centre is a small, dense cluster by the water, with the brick castle Burg Brüggen at its edge. Around it, residential streets loop outward before giving way to fields and forest.
The countryside matters as much as the town. Brüggen is part of the Maas-Schwalm-Nette nature park, a cross-border landscape of woods, heath and small lakes. On the sheet, the Schwalm's winding course and scattered patches of water break up the green spaces, and the roads run between them in long, gentle curves. A Brüggen map poster shows a town surrounded by more open land than buildings.
The castle, the river and the old centre make a neat focal point, while the border with the Netherlands runs just to the west through the surrounding woodland. It is a quiet part of the Lower Rhine region, popular with walkers and cyclists, and the map has the same calm character, with a few clear features and plenty of space.
