Sarawak River bends
The river curls through the centre in wide, repeated loops before heading north to the South China Sea, giving the map a strong, flowing line that few cities of this size have.

Kuching Map Poster & Print
From above, Kuching is organised by water. The Sarawak River swings through the city in a series of broad loops, and the older streets gather on its south bank in a tight cluster of shophouse rows facing the waterfront promenade. Across the water, the north bank holds larger, greener parcels: the Astana, Fort Margherita and the State Legislative Assembly building, linked to the south side by a pedestrian bridge.
The city grew under the Brooke family, the so-called White Rajahs who governed Sarawak from 1841 until after the Second World War, and much of the riverfront layout dates from that period. Beyond the historic core, newer districts spread south and east in a looser pattern of arterial roads, housing estates and roundabouts, while swamp forest and tidal channels mark the land toward the coast.
A Kuching map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The meandering river becomes the strongest shape on the sheet, the dense old town reads as a fine knot of streets, and the outer suburbs thin into open ground. It is a map that records how a trading settlement on a river bend became the capital of Malaysia's largest state.

Waterfront old town
On the south bank, compact rows of shophouse streets meet the long riverside esplanade, forming the densest and most finely drawn part of the city's street pattern.
Darul Hana Bridge
Opened in 2017, this curved pedestrian bridge crosses the river between the waterfront and the north bank, tying the old commercial core to the Astana and Fort Margherita.

Niyə Kuching
Məna daşıyan xəritə
Kuching is a city people tend to remember by its river, and a map makes that memory legible: the evening walk along the waterfront, the crossing to the north bank, the neighbourhood where family lives. It suits anyone who grew up in Sarawak, studied here, or passed through on the way to Borneo's national parks.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, so the poster can carry a family name, a wedding date or a single meaningful address. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order it as a $9 HD download or a printed poster.
