Pułtusk Map Poster & Print
Pułtusk sits on the Narew River north of Warsaw, and on a map the water is what defines it. The river splits into branches around the old town, so the historic centre looks almost like an island, joined to the rest of town by short bridges. Newer districts spread out from there onto drier ground, and the Narew continues through wide meadows on both sides.
At the centre of the old town is Pułtusk's best-known feature, a market square about four hundred metres long, often described as one of the longest in Europe. From above it reads as a long, narrow rectangle, with the town hall tower standing in its middle. At its southern end is the former castle of the bishops of Płock, set right on the riverbank.
A Pułtusk map poster brings out that unusual geometry: the stretched square, the river channels folding around it, and the looser suburban streets beyond. The town is also known for the 1806 battle fought here during the Napoleonic Wars. Most people, though, remember it for the river views and the walk down that long, gently curving square.

The Narew splits into channels around the historic core, which gives the old town its almost island-like outline and lays soft curves across the print.
Castle on the river
The former bishops' castle sits at the end of the square beside the water, closing the long axis of the old town on the riverbank.
