Fortress Hill core
The old centre sits around the site of the original fortress. Its compact streets form the anchor from which the rest of the city grew outward.

Stavropol Map Poster & Print
Stavropol stands on the Stavropol Upland, one of the highest large cities in European Russia, overlooking the steppe to the north of the Caucasus. On a map the city spreads across uneven ground. Long straight avenues cross it, while forested ravines and green belts cut into the street pattern and leave open gaps within the urban area.
The historic centre grew around Fortress Hill, where the original fortifications stood. From there, Karl Marx Prospekt and other main streets form the old core. Later districts spread out in regular blocks, with large Soviet-era residential areas to the north and west. Parks and forests, some reaching deep into the city, give the map an unusual amount of green space.
Stavropol was founded in 1777 as a fortress on the Azov–Mozdok defensive line. It later became an administrative centre for the North Caucasus and is sometimes called the gateway to the Caucasus. A Stavropol map poster shows a hilltop city laid out on a plateau, with the old fortress core surrounded by avenues, parks and forested slopes.

Forested ravines
Wooded ravines and forests cut into the built-up area, leaving green channels and open shapes that break up the street network across the poster.
Long prospekts
Broad avenues run long distances across the plateau, drawing strong straight lines that connect the historic centre with the newer residential districts.

Niyə Stavropol
Məna daşıyan xəritə
Stavropol is a hometown to many, and a student city to many more. A map of its avenues, parks and old fortress core is an understated keepsake, suited to a study, a hallway or a new flat far from the plateau.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be personalised. You might write the name in Cyrillic, add a street or mark an important year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint works well with the long straight avenues.
