The narrow lake forms the spine of the map, running north to south beside the centre and giving the poster its most recognisable shape.

Strausberg Map Poster & Print
Strausberg lies in Brandenburg, just beyond Berlin's eastern edge, and water and woodland shape its map. The Straussee, a long, slender lake, runs north to south beside the old town. The historic centre sits on its eastern shore and keeps remains of a medieval town wall. Forest closes in on several sides and gives the town a clearly defined outline.
The town is known for two unusual transport links. A small electric ferry powered by an overhead wire crosses the Straussee, and a local tram line connects the centre with the S-Bahn station, where trains run into Berlin. In GDR times Strausberg was home to the Ministry of National Defence, and the town still has a military presence today.
A Strausberg map poster suits commuters who love coming home to the lake, walkers who know the forest paths, and anyone who grew up between Berlin and the Märkische Schweiz. The shape of the Straussee alone makes the design recognisable: a long, pale form set against the fine grid of the old town.

Old town on the shore
The historic core sits on the lake's eastern bank. Its tighter streets and pieces of the medieval wall contrast with the looser districts around it.
Forest edge
Woodland wraps around much of the town, so the built area ends abruptly in open green space, a clean frame that suits minimalist styles.
