Tata Map Poster & Print
Tata lies in Komárom-Esztergom County in northern Hungary, between the Gerecse and Vértes hills, and it is often called the town of waters. The map shows why. The large Öreg-tó, or Old Lake, spreads beside the town centre, a smaller lake lies nearby, and springs and streams run through the streets and parks.
Tata Castle stands on the shore of the Old Lake. It is a medieval fortress that later became a royal residence, and its ruins and restored wing are reflected in the water. The Esterházy family shaped much of the town in the eighteenth century, and their palace, churches and baroque buildings define the historic core beside the lake.
The Old Lake is also an important wetland. In winter it draws large numbers of migrating wild geese, which the town celebrates each year with a festival. A Tata map poster puts the lake at the heart of the composition, framed by the old town, the English Garden and the curving shoreline.

English Garden
Around the smaller Cseke lake, the landscaped English Garden adds winding paths and water to the map, a softer counterpart to the dense streets nearby.
