The archipelago
Countless islands and skerries stretch out from the coast, forming a dense pattern of small shapes in the water that fills the seaward side of the map.

Västervik Map Poster & Print
Västervik sits on the Swedish east coast in Kalmar County, where the mainland breaks into inlets and a long chain of islands. From above, the town reads as a compact centre pressed against the water, with quays and small harbours curving along the shore. Roads follow the land between bays, so the plan bends and forks rather than settling into a single grid.
The archipelago is the defining feature on any map of the area. Thousands of islands, islets and skerries spread out from the coast, and on a black-and-white print they become a fine scatter of shapes against open water. The inner town has an older core of small lots and narrow lanes, and the ruins of Stegeholm castle stand near the harbour, where the town's summer song festival is held.
A Västervik map poster keeps that contrast between the settled centre and the fragmented shoreline. The coastline takes up much of the composition, and water plays as large a part as land. Residential streets on the edges loop around rocky ground and small lakes, giving the outer districts an irregular, organic texture that sets them apart from the tighter lanes by the harbour.

Harbour and quays
The town centre meets the sea along a curved waterfront, where harbours and quays cut the shoreline into short, regular edges beside the older streets.
Stegeholm ruins
The remains of Stegeholm castle stand by the water near the centre, a small, fixed point on the map and the setting for the town's summer song festival.

Niyə Västervik
Məna daşıyan xəritə
People hang Västervik for summers on the archipelago, a family house on the coast or a childhood spent by the harbour. The broken coastline makes a striking print, busy at the edges and quiet in the open water.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a sailing year or an address, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the sea especially well.
