Yegorlykskaya is a stanitsa in the south of Rostov Oblast, a large Cossack-founded village that serves as the administrative centre of its district. From above it reads as a settlement shaped by open land. Long, straight streets run for kilometres in parallel lines, crossed at regular intervals by shorter lanes. The result is a loose grid of wide blocks, stretched out rather than packed tight.
The stanitsa sits in the basin of the Yegorlyk river system, and a narrow watercourse with its ponds and low banks gives the map one soft, irregular line against all that geometry.
