Aue Map Poster & Print
Aue lies in the western Ore Mountains of Saxony, where the Schwarzwasser flows into the Zwickauer Mulde. On the map the town follows the valley floors, forming a Y along the two rivers, and railway lines and main roads squeeze in beside them.
From the valleys the streets climb the slopes in curves and switchbacks, and the hills above stay mostly wooded. The area was mined for centuries, and kaolin from nearby was used to make Meissen porcelain. Since 2019 Aue has formed a single town with neighbouring Bad Schlema.
