Broad Ripple Map Poster & Print
Broad Ripple is a neighbourhood on the north side of Indianapolis that began as a separate village before the city grew around it. It still feels like its own place, with a compact commercial strip at its centre and tree-lined residential streets around it. On a map, several strong lines overlap here that are unusual for a city neighbourhood.
The White River curves along the north side, and the Central Canal, a nineteenth-century waterway built for a larger Indiana canal system that was never finished, runs through the neighbourhood and is now edged with a towpath. The Monon Trail, a converted railway line, cuts through on a diagonal. Broad Ripple Park occupies a stretch of the riverbank.
