Commerce City Map Poster & Print
Commerce City lies immediately north-east of Denver, and its map reflects its name. Rail yards, freight lines, a refinery and warehouses fill the older southern part of the city along the South Platte River. Highways and interchanges tie it closely to the wider metro area.
Its most surprising neighbour is the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. The former chemical weapons site has been restored as prairie and is now home to bison and many bird species. To the north, newer residential neighbourhoods have spread over open land, and Dick's Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids, sits at the refuge's edge.
