Daokou Map Poster & Print
Daokou lies in Hua County in northern Henan, on the Wei River. This section of waterway was part of the Grand Canal system that once carried grain and goods across northern China. On the map the old town follows the curve of the river, and its tight lanes run alongside the water and down toward former landing places.
For centuries Daokou was a busy port on this route, and part of its canal section is included in the Grand Canal World Heritage listing. Across China the town is also known for Daokou roast chicken, a local speciality with a long pedigree.
